Hades by Cyclops Vapor – Hades e-liquid flavor is made with the two types of coffee beans—Mocha and Java. It’s an entirely natural fit, creating a complex yet well-balanced coffee blend e-liquid flavor.
With Cyclops Vapor’s proven track record in both tobacco and fruits as well as a perfect score from their Poseidon-fruity-melon e-liquid. I was curious to see how they would fare with this juice, a hades-roasted-coffee. I commonly find issues with coffee based e-liquids, considering most taste overly artificial in nature with a saccharine sweetness reminiscent of coffee flavored candies.
Hopeful that Cyclops Vapor would fare better than others, I grabbed a freshly coiled Helios, my Nemesis, and got comfortable.
The nose on the bottle is sweet, but the vape itself is quite tasty. The profile is deep, dark, earthy and rich, with a light, natural sweetness that is a very long way from cloying.
The roasted bean is very exceptional and is a quality bean. The flavor presents itself right on the exhale, with a delicate, subtle blend of the traditional coffee. The flavor is mild at the top but gains a bit more traction on the exhale where it’s met with a dark, roasted coffee flavor that still includes some of the natural tasting flavors that all coffee e-liquids seem to possess to some degree. It does match perfectly to the taste of the genuine article unlike the overwhelming majority of coffee based e-liquids I’ve tasted.
The mocha comes into play later in the exhale, gaining an even greater foothold towards the finish, but even then, it’s not particularly potent. It acts as more of a complimentary flavor to the roasted bean and coffee, lending a light hint of sweetness and a greater sense of body.
The profile is a single, cohesive chord that touches on all the notes presented, but does so in a way that leads to a tightly knit arrangement.
With the roasted bean, coffee and mocha all being deeper tones, there are very few top notes in play, aside from some of the spice, so the vape is mostly focused on bottom notes and roasted to bring out each bean’s unique flavor separately.
This is a vape that, like some of Cyclops Vapor’s other e-liquids, is big, bold, and robust.
In the ProVari, I found the flavors to meld best at the lower wattage. With a 2.5Ω atomizer, I preferred it at 8.4w or 4.6v. While it was tasty on the Nemesis/Helios combo with dual 28ga Kanthal coils at .66Ω, I preferred the flavor I got from the same Helios atop my Duke, which has the luxury of VV, allowing me to dial in a constant 21 watts, where I found the flavors to be most pronounced. The juice can take quite a bit more heat, but with all the dark tones, I found it to be too much for me to chain vape any higher. The throat hit is a bit milder than I anticipated, but a long way from what I would call mellow. The vapor production is, as I have come to expect from all things Cyclops Vapor, voluminous.
Hades is the only perfect Mocha Java Mingled vape juice that I have tried that resembles an original coffee blend. Cyclops Vapors interpretation combines all of the ingredients into perfect blends of a coffee flavor that are sweet and natural like Ethiopian Yirgacheffe with the rich flavor & thick body of Java Estate type coffees flavor. The result has long been praised by roasted coffee aficionados taste around the vaping world.
Overall the juice is delicious, but the balance is offset by the baked beans, and I’m left wanting more of the mocha coffee flavor. The only thing to remind you of is that Cyclops Vapor is the real deal.
